At Shindelar Carved, we believe the best memories are made around the table.

Our family lives on a farm in Northeast Iowa that has been in the family for over 100 years, where hard work, and taking pride in what you build have always been a way of life. For many years, our family operated a dairy farm, and while most of the animals are gone today, the values we learned there continue to shape everything we build.

Shindelar Carved was founded by David Shindelar, whose passion for designing and building began long before the business ever existed. What started as a love for creating things with his hands gradually grew into a full-time woodworking shop dedicated to building heirloom-quality furniture that families can enjoy for generations.

As parents of six children, we know firsthand how important the dinner table can be. It's where homework gets finished, birthdays are celebrated, holiday traditions are shared, and conversations happen after long days. Those everyday moments inspired us to build furniture that becomes more than just another piece in your home.

Every table, bench, and custom project is handcrafted one at a time from solid hardwood using a blend of traditional woodworking techniques and precision CNC technology. We embrace the natural beauty of real wood, knowing that every grain pattern, knot, and character mark makes your piece truly one of a kind.
